Highly Grateful Family

I want to express my infinity gratitude, for the help that my two kids and I received from the Washington Kids in Transition. I want to tell you that the hotel was amazing. The children relaxed and they could watch TV. We were going through a bad time because the family we lived with didn’t want us anymore in the home. We didn’t know where to go because we are from Venezuela and we are alone in this country. Were terrible days because I have the responsibility to care of my children.I was scared. Just imagine not having a place to sleep, it was a nightmare. I tried to do everything so as not to worry my children. I had terrible headaches for the concern. I felt totally lost. But always you gave us hope. You gave us food and hope. Thanks to you, my kids never realized about the terrible situation. They could go to the school, they could sleep in a clean bed, and they could eat at a table and now we have our own apartment. This experience changed my life. We know we live around people who care. I can take care of my children now we are safe. Thank you for everything.

Infinitely grateful

For the past three weeks, we have helped a mom and her kids who were forced to leave their apartment because there was mold growing in their walls. They have no where to go while the city and landlords work out a solution.

We helped a Dad and his three kids, they have been living in their car for the last 2 months, kids were all sick, they needed a little break. A week in a motel should help them on their way to recovery.

We currently have a mom and two kids staying safely in a local motel. They do not have a car and have exhausted all other options while waiting for shelter space to open up.

We purchased diapers for a special needs student.
We purchased prom tickets for one very excited young lady.

Things we need help with:
We have a young lady that needs licensed child care for her 5 month old son so she can continue to go to school.
Any ideas?

We are able to provide an immediate response to students needs with your help.

We are gearing up for our Silent Auction... Did you know this is our largest fundraiser of the year? 100% of the money raised goes directly into our programs. Do you have your tickets?
